Thought I'd start the new year with a bang...
unfortunately, I may have set up too high a standard for myself. I don't have the patience to do this kind of thing all the time. >_> Slow painting really isn't my thing, and this took a lot out of me. I've also had tons of bad luck with this...

Anyway, I have yet to play this game, but I love the art, so I thought why not?

I love the details in this painting, as well as the texture that DarthTofu has created, especially in the hat and and the claw designs. I also love his eyes, they're very mesmerizing, as if he can see through your soul.

Good work DarthTofu!

So one thing that drew me to this piece is I never expected someone to touch the Prince of Persia series. Especially considering the distinct style the first next-generation title went with. Some video games have such an amazing art direction, and yet it's rarely reflected in art communities like this. This makes it all the more pleasant of a surprise when I find a piece that not only captures the look of the game perfectly, but makes me want to play it.

So while I'm probably repeating what others have mentioned, I have to say that this piece is completely worthy in every aspect of being highlighted. Sometimes setting the bar a bit too high can really result in an unexpected surprise that blows everyone out of the water. With a quick look at the piece, one can tell immediately on just how textured things are. His air, his gauntlet, the clothing. Everything in this picture stands out and has a distinct look that creates the impression of a certain feeling. The fact that you obtained this for not just a few things, but literally everything throughout the piece really shows the amount of time and effort put into this piece and more importantly, shows how talented you are.

So, I've talked about the feelings, but what about all the other fun stuff? Well, proportions are spot on from what I can view. You've got some shadowing thrown in, which I wouldn't of expected given the piece makes him look like he's in the middle of a fierce sandstorm but I'm glad to see it there. What really stole the show for me, though, was the eyes. I'm a sucker for a beautiful pair of eyes, and those eyes convey so much that it it knocks me off of my chair and leaves me on the floor. You could of just done a close up of his eyes and this would still be just as sexy, without the extra bits of hotness. Those eyes are that. damn. good.

My only complaint I can say is that there isn't more of this, or that this isn't (or is there?) available as a print. Fantastic use of color, hue and tone, and more importantly dedication and skill. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go track this game down.
