Happy Holidays, minna-san!
This is artwork by Ryutaro Hino, who specializes in doing doujinshi of Sailor Saturn. His/her stuff is so good it looks like the real thing. Most years there's a Hotaru calendar available in limited supply. This is from the 2002 calendar. Hotaru is my fav character from Sailor Moon. *hugs little, misunderstood senshi*
The background was painted from scratch, including the wall, trees, snow, log and lights. The bunny and squirrel were photos that I found online and painted into the picture. Hotaru was extracted, cleaned up and smudged.
I wanted this to be soft and quiet, the way the world is when snow falls without wind. I love that feeling of peace. *sigh*
Not a really complicated wall. Enjoy!

That aside your drawn ones look awesome. The background looks really good considering you did it from scratch. I think you managed to achieve that soft and quiet feeling you were aming for (I also love snowfall, when the snowflakes are fluffy and there's no wind). -
I am not that much of a Hotaru (Sailor Saturn) lover, but the concept that you have here is really beautiful. Nice job.
