...I think my original plan was to try and make this as non-religious-looking possible. I more or less ditched that thought halfway through.
Fay selectively vectored from this scan, then
texture-whored :D Used canvas textures from Princess-of-Shadows &
candy's utterly hawesome Klimt pack <3, and a smoke
texture from resurgere.

I'm a sucker for tannish colours XD and yummy textures, though I wonder if his cape is a bit too textured down, 'cause his face and the ice crystals aren't as textured, so it kinda looks like his cape thing is part of the background rather than part of Fai. Or maybe it's not the textures but rather the lack of outline on his cape that gives it that effect?

i agree with maple, i think that his cape is too heavily textured compared to the rest of him, although the designs are really fabulous. i think you should lower the opacity on the dissolve layer (at least i think that's what you did if i'm not mistaken)
but anyways, other than that coment this is really a gorgeous piece, and very true to clamp style which most people i have to say cannot pull off. great job!
