For: Chloe
Not a KHR fan but Chloe loves it something awful
and so I decided to use one of her awesome vectors to make something
for her.
I had fun making this though some parts I wanted to
yell a bit but I really had fun doing something more dark and non
girly for a change. Think I just might do more.
The whole background is made from scratch, took me
all morning and afternoon to make it. Since the vector was done
by Chloe half the work was done and so I wanted to make the bg
look very full and with effort since the vector looks so epic.
Started with the sand - Yes it's sand their walking on.
I used my bestfriends the Burn tool and Dodge tool to make the
dark strokes and light strokes you see on the sand to give depth.
I did paint it but then Maple said it looked like mud so I scratched it and
made another with just the B tool and D tool again. Added noise and color to it
and that took care of it.
Then started on the dead city behind them, I wanted to give it a vacant
look with nothing left and so no windows and other lights besides the remaining
screen you see with the "Reborn" title on it. As for the buildings...ugh they were a pain to make even though
they were shapes, I added detail with the advice and help of Maple again. She really helped me with them, guiding me on
how to shade and such, after I was done making the shades and such I added lights to some and also wires and
such.
Added mist to give it a cool, wind blowing look...which btw
the idea of a desert-cirt look came from Chloe's unfinished wall of it since
she was working on walling this however I thought I would surprise her with my own version of it. I saw the basic colors
she used and got an idea off them.
After making the city and all I added the text you see behind them
on the wall. I thought it looked cool and all so I added more thanks to Vita
who suggested I add more text to it.
After that added the birds (only brush used) and then made
the sky darker.
