ARIGATOU MINNA!
Thanks so much everyone! For the b-day gifts, messages, ... for all the love you gave me! It really means a lot to me! It's great to know I have friends here that I can count on!
So here's a little vector as a way of saying "Thank you"

-----
Worked on this all afternoon. Outlining wasn't hard, the coloring was the challenge.
I never did so much painting work on my life, and I was really scared of it 'cause I suck so much at painting :x
I'm afraid that there are lots and lots of flaws (I'm sure there are) visible to others because of the brightness of their screens >_<

This was the original image, no bigger version until December 3rd, but I couldn't wait. And it's no problem, I've worked with much smaller images (which I'll be re-vectoring soon btw).

I wanted to do the same type of coloring, so painting was the only way. Oh man, I barely use the smudge tool plus I still haven't got a new mouse and I suck at using my tablet... you can see that, some lines are really weird...
She had these "huge" lips on the original image, but I thought the way I made them smaller looked better.
I'm not proud of the gloves, they were the most difficult for me. I couldn't find the right colors to blend
Her hair was really fun to paint. (Sheryl's hair is so pretty and interesting XD)
Again, my best allies were the burn and dodge tool. They're wonderful :P
Ah and yes, I added a sparkle to her earring. Macross fans know how important the earring is.
No ideas for a bg, so I just tried to make it like the one in the original pic.

Last, I added some snow cause of the title.
Title comes from D.Gray-Man's 1st ED "Snow Kiss".
Not only I had that music playing but I thought it was fitting with the vector, Sheryl blowing a kiss, and it reminded me of winter so~

I wanted to make a wall out of it, but since there isn't much space it would look too busy (wall version @ AP later anyway~)

C&C is welcome (as usual)

Your getting better with those lines, nice job
on the painting of her hair. It looks great and I love
the flow of it all together. The bg's a little rough which I think
doesn't go with how lovely and soft she is.
But overall it's a beautiful vector and I love it.
    Thanks Kairi <3

Wow, the shading on her face and clothes is absolutely perfect! <3 You enhanced the vector's quality by shrinking the lips, she looks better this way :) Overall, great job and it deserves my fav!
I'll be looking for the wallpaper version on AP ;)

  5. temarigenius Nov 25, 2008

Wow. A perfectly done Sheryl vector! o_0
I really thought that she's hard to vector...
The full view was really much better than the thumbnail~ I would have regret if I didn't see the full view.
Everything is awesome~ Flawless. And I really love the background! It's really cool! >.<
The only thing that I got to say is that, you should have made it wallpaper sized >_<

You painting is gorgeous! No more complaining now. :3 I love her hair the most.
The background is a bit weird but it looks like the scan so you achieved it.
