This is an entry in the 
Halloween contest...
This wallpaper is also dedicated to my partner in crime, Pande! :3
Wow, I sure am cutting it close to the deadline, huh? I'm not gonna lie and say I didn't rush it, but it turned out pretty well for a rush job, if I do say so myself. If I had more time, I would've added more shading and maybe play around with some painting techniques, but alas, I hadn't that much time.
So, all of the characters and background was vectored from some rough pencil drawings my twin brother drew. Now I know
what you're about to say: "You said no collabs!"
Yes, I did. And I remembered that after I started on it. Yoru said it can pass, seeing how he's my bro. I wouldn't count
it either, seeing how he didn't help during the walling process. Also, everyone started to make a big stink when I said
I couldn't enter. This is all you get, kiddos! >:0
Anyway, I was super desperate, and began talking to my mom about possible ideas. I mentioned, "I wish I could have
some guy trying to rip his own head off", in which she responded with, "Hey, why don't you get Connor to draw
it!"
Good thinking, mom.
I mean, let's face it, my brother is a fantastically talented artist. So he agreed.... and I did not expect this
wonderful picture. It totally blew my mind AWAY. It was perfect, for lack of better phrasing.
So I vectored it.
But what's this!? I had no idea what to do for a background. So I talked this out with the good bro, and we decided a spooky mansion scene would look awesomely frightening.
So he drew it. And I vectored it.
As for the painting hanging on the wall, that is an earlier sketch of Connor's that he let me use for this project. By the way, Connor owns these characters, so no stealing them... or I track you down and kill you... haha, kidding. :3
All textures come from eSCRAPPERS.com... except for the wallpaper texture. I found that with google. The writing on the wall is a mix between a couple lines from a macabre poem I wrote. What, you want to read it? Okay!
Through Blood and Black Powder
Earthly sustenance is gained
Familial bonds are strengthened
And the Music flows freely
Throughout the Darkened land.
Fake Faces grieve for the Lost
Mixed with the Tears of the Beloved
Only through Truth can they move on
Throughout the Darkened land.
The Blood and Black Powder stain the Fake faces,
revealing weakness
The Fake faces shun the truth
Deafened to the coming Storm.
Yet the Music shall play ever stronger
Throughout the Darkened land.

Oh, and the title (as well as the wall) was partially inspired by the song "Vicarious" by the Alternative Metal band Tool. Pretty dark song, yet powerful and kinda true.

omg there are no words to explain how great this, i love the textured as always, thsi is uch a clean vector and theres not too much 3d-ness going on which i usually like to see but in this case it just looks wonderful! i agree with kitten, the style reminds me alot of tim burton =].
i think the blood on the neck could have been darker, but thats like the only thing i can think of that i would change. oh dev i'm so happy you finished, i realy was about to flip a shits when you said you werent finishing!

It's deliciously creepy and certainly made my day! I think it's the creepiest entry so far :D OK, so the poem isn't that emo, but it's also dark and it would sound great as a song ^^

This sure looks great and I think your brothers original art is really creative.
I really like the guys hat and how it conects to his sweater (and goes through his head XD), and I have to say I really love the colours and textures you used.
I read in your brothers description that the girl in the picture is his sister. The scary really seems to run in the family, hu?
