woot first to comment! i love the background so muhc, its so creative and pretty =] and the two main characters are especially well drawn.
well i cheated since i\'ve seen this before xP hahah and that wonderful texture i think looks great

Happy Birthday Gaara
Note: People calm down this was made like 2 weeks ago,
I can't make them that fast so chill XD
Characters were made in 5 days, each and their flaws
took me a time to finish. Only references used were for the hands
which when I think about it, can't be seen that clearly.
Background went through so many changes, different color
schemes and at one point some how ended up looking like a jail
with pink clouds. After fixing it I worked on painting it all and blended
it nicely, clouds I think came out better than usual with my other
works. It's hard not to over smudge when making them, everything else
was vectored and grass was a brush that I changed and modified to look
fitting for that scene.
I originally wanted a sunset, cloudy look with flowers
and such but with their emotions it wasn't going to look right.
So then I made a dark one and it fit so well I made it darker
and kinda "end of the world" look.
I hated having to change the charactes color
schemes so many times to fit the background, it
was so annoying and then I added so many things cause I forgot
horribly alot ^^;

Love the vector work, it's very clean as usual. And the texture adds a nice touch to the whole dark mood.

The dark colors are quite soothing, and at the same time, vaguely haunting. To me, the characters seem to be meeting in secret to discuss something... secret. Looks like that to me.
The characters are all drawn marvelously (as usual). I especially like the blonde girl. These are the EDD! admins, yes? Pretty rad!
