Lucifer and His Bride
Lucifer is a name frequently given to Satan in Christian belief. This usage stems from a particular interpretation, as a reference to a fallen angel (Wikipedia). I drew him with his angel wing become devil wing.

What a lot of people saying that it's Laverrine's style. ^_^' I guess there are similarities.. but you have quite a different style actually. Your patterns are rather distinguishable from hers; hers are more veered to weaves and Art Noveau; yours are more.. how do I put it? Kind of more Anglo-Saxon, church-like patterns. Which is a good thing! ^^
I love your colour scheme. The blues, greys and pinks do give it a sort of cold, twilight feel. I love your Gothic stained glass window patterns, as well as the textures you used! It looks a tad rough, almost crayon-cum-oil, but overall it works! Speaking of Gothic, just look at the skull, the spilled goblet of blood-red wine and the melting candles.. me like.
You paid so much attention to her dress! I like how it flows down, that train of hers, with the neat pattern recurring downwards, complete with translucent frills and a trail of roses. The lace is nicely done too, kind of like those of those grand, thick curtains.. (Unlike Laverrine's classic lacy style ;) ) The blue roses gleam besutifully; indeed it is a picture of mysticism! Dark bat-like wings folded, white feathers dropping.. a trace of blood, a cracked, grinning skull, pointed ears and an intimate gesture..tightly-curled tresses, done up with grey ribbon and veil.. All done with a dramatic background of elaborately gilted windows and gorgeous blue roses..
There's a slight problem with proportion, especially with her shoulders, and his wing.. But I get problems like that too, so I can't totally advice you there. That said, I love how soft and feminine her face and neck is.. And how the cloth creases gently..
So, it doesn't need to be said; I'll fave! I hope to get some response from you (though I might not be able to reply back immediately due to coming exams)

Oh took a closer look at your description; so that's what's going on! Hmm, Lucifer was supposed to be an angel of Music or some like, right? His bride? I would have thought he was kissing Virtue goodbye, she looks so angelic. ^^ Still, the spilt wine does imply a loss of innocence, or some irreversible occurrence.. (Him becoming a devil? Him falling in love?) -
I love your windows in the background! I can imagine it took a lot of time to get them in proportion. The gothic windows are what jumped out at me and made me take a closer look at your artwork. Plus, I love how crisply your lacework and roses turned out. Lace has to be one of the most difficult things to draw! The fact that you made the roses and flames of the candles blue adds a mysterious and supernatural touch to the image.
Wonderful work here, and thank you for sharing! -
I agree with aozorskies, that this is just as detailed as Laverrine's work, it's not in her style. Your faces are less angular and the movement is softer. That said, this is absolutely spectacular! Lucifur wasn't the angel of music, that was...someone I can't remember, but I know it wasn't Lucifer. Anyway, the colors are A M A Z I N G and I love the lace! It's beautiful! The window...OMG it's gorgeous. I could go one for ever! I'm totally adding you to my watchlist!

Lovely first submission la-sera! I would agree that it resembles laverinne's style, but only from the thumb. Beautiful colors and great detail work! The windows are especially amazing and the roses are lovely. If there was anything that I could criticize it would be her right arm (foreground) and upper torso. Her arm is lacking an elbow, which makes it look too noodle-y, and her clavicle bones look a tad too long. But your piece definitely shows promise! Keep up the great work-- I can't wait to see what you'll show us next!

wahhh....pretty. Don't know how to describe with words. +fav. Arigatou! XD

Beautiful.

you drew that?! *faints* *but favs b4 fainting*

I disagree about the style being like laverinne's. Her work is opulent but she has a style all her own. Especially the texture.

I think this is very beautiful, I love all the details. Congrats for your great work and thanks for sharing :)

Wow... and I though I'm too lazy to respond to gallery items these days. Lovely work, gotta admit that at first I though it was Laverrine's art once again, but hey, I'm only human. Which is precisely why I'm awestruck when looking at it. +fav for both of your works.
