After a long absence and a month-long break from photoshop back in september, i should perhaps i should show a sign of life. :] i first did this vector of allen from this image way back when i was marathon-reading the manga. going scenic with it was the logical route but i was reluctant because i am rather inexperienced with scenic. but i got convinced to give it a go by a friend.
then came summer. two months of bits and pieces of work, much frustration and disappointment (i redrew those two huge arches to the left about seven times, four times in full, from scratch), excessive brain-wracking and pain...and i wasn't even done all the buildings. T__T too much fixing-as-i-go going on. since i'm submitting now, obvious i did get around to finishing the buildings and (n00b) painting.
i now have a full appreciation for perspective and painting. and pulling stuff directly out of my head and drawing from absolute zero. so yeah, the reason why this might look weird is that this scene is original. the row of arches was inspired by this tiny image and i took the approximate shape of part of this building. still all details--bricks/blocks, shading--were imaginary. some things might appear lopsided/off, but more likely than not, it is the illusion caused by the arches. all the painting was done without references.
even if this isn't perfect, i still think i can be proud of myself for having tried. much effort. x__x well, enjoy. :] feedback very much welcomed!

Oh my gosh this is so pretty I mean its like something out of a movie wow your so talented to draw the columns from scratch they look so proffessional and your painting to me looks so pretty and talented to me I cant tell your a beginner..*smiles*..I love the scene you picked to for Allen it goes with his cape blowing and like he is on the scene of the anime looking for the enemy and something is about to happen..*smiles*. I love how you did the dust and sky in monochome wow very good and real looking like this is something the orginal D Grayman artist would do and the red part showing on his face is so creative I love this..*smiles*.
