After a long absence and a month-long break from photoshop back in september, i should perhaps i should show a sign of life. :] i first did this vector of allen from this image way back when i was marathon-reading the manga. going scenic with it was the logical route but i was reluctant because i am rather inexperienced with scenic. but i got convinced to give it a go by a friend.
then came summer. two months of bits and pieces of work, much frustration and disappointment (i redrew those two huge arches to the left about seven times, four times in full, from scratch), excessive brain-wracking and pain...and i wasn't even done all the buildings. T__T too much fixing-as-i-go going on. since i'm submitting now, obvious i did get around to finishing the buildings and (n00b) painting.
i now have a full appreciation for perspective and painting. and pulling stuff directly out of my head and drawing from absolute zero. so yeah, the reason why this might look weird is that this scene is original. the row of arches was inspired by this tiny image and i took the approximate shape of part of this building. still all details--bricks/blocks, shading--were imaginary. some things might appear lopsided/off, but more likely than not, it is the illusion caused by the arches. all the painting was done without references.
even if this isn't perfect, i still think i can be proud of myself for having tried. much effort. x__x well, enjoy. :] feedback very much welcomed!

Hey dont beat up yourself so much. This is no 'noob' work.
It was actually creative & original of you to recreate the wall on the left and make it in ruins.
I can't even imagine the pain you had drawing every crack & brick in the wall!Also, the Greyish tone added with an isolated red really expresses Allen really well.

.. i dont know what you are talking about this wall is so friggin phenomenal and amazing. omg i cant even pick out the numerous things i like about it! the ONLY thing i would change is maybe adding some texture to the top, but it really looks fine the way it is.

Wow, I`m just speechless. The way you pulled this wall off... there`s really no word for it. The black and white just makes this wall even more powerful. Did I hear you say this isn`t perfect? Lies! This is beyond perfect.
