Entry for Pool Party Round 1 : Summer Solstice

This is the updated and coloured version of my greyscale entry. I was from the Achromatic team, so basically we were to wall in greyscale. Here's the original sketch. I worked with greyscale at first but then I decided to see how it'll look in colour. So yeah, it was sort of hard to recolour this from greyscale. >_>

I didn't know much about the solstice at first so I did some research on it. The concept is based on the cultural aspects of summer solstice, which has something to do with life and renewal. Thus, I used hands and vines to represent 'em.

Inspiration from RD's Music for Serene Moments, old paper textures from Stockxchng, special thanks to Kitten for the suggestion to add some flowers.

More resolutions (soon) at EDD!

This one's really pretty, I like your original drawing a lot.
I like the coloured version better than the achromatic one (I did for almost all of the contest's walls I've seen so far).
I don't know much else to say, but I think it's really great that you came up with such a fitting wall for that difficult theme (I thought it was damn hard).

Seeing that part of your inspiration was music maybe you'd like to join depths-of-sound?

Loove it! The color one is better than the greyscale one. The colors are bright and cheerful =D

Wow! It must have been really tough to turn the greyscale one into this color version. But I'm glad you did, 'cause I think this version is much more beautiful than the other! :)
The vector is very neat and I love the colors you've chosen. The wallpaper gives me a nice warm feeling. I like it. :)
    Great job! It's a fav!
    Ja ne... ;)

Wow just like YoruAngel said original and beautiful. I gotta agree with Chole-chan that the color one is better than the greyscale because it's more difficult for me to see the details with that one. With the color it made it more vivid. Though I'm surprised you were able to recolour it from the greyscale. o.o Interesting how the sun is a clock too. Really nice clouds and simplicity captured once again. Btw, nice drawing. ^^

    Gah, this is lovely!
So inspiring and refreshing, plus the concept is genius.
I like both version, the greyscale one is kinda ironic though...having something 'bout the sun being totally black and white is very clever.
The colored one is beautiful but kinda obvious..don't get me wrong I still love it.

    Great wall, Gaara :')

Waaah, it looks a bazillion times better colored.
Nice light effects and boy... I wanna know how to draw clouds like that >.>
I'm gonna steal your PS knowledge someday...

Great use of textures, and the coloring and lighting are really good. I love the sky gradient too :)... One thing though, the hands' proportions seem a bit off, and there's not much 'depth' in your perspective.

But anyway, it's still a great wall, so thumbs up :D
