I dedicate this to the people at studio-ghibli especially to:
Aozoraskies: for being so friendly and not to mention a fellow book fan ;)
Temarigenius who love Spirited Away soundtrack too. Here's a pic to go with the song :D

Main inspiration is the song Inochi no Namae the soundtrack for Spirited Away by Joe Hisaishi. It's the perfect song to put me in a nostalgic mood.
Listen to it here:

Oh and be sure to check out depths-of-sound because it sounds fun!

Vectoring the sketchy outlines took forever because I'm lazy and because I don't have as much spare time as I used to. Lesse, it's been... 3 months since my last wall O_o

Anyway, at some point, I realize I should've trace it manually with pen and tracing paper.
The coloring is fun and only took 2 days. It's not exactly neat because I wanted it to look like it's manually colored :p

Um I realize this didn't make a good wallpaper. It's kind of full and not icon friendly. So just think of it an image >_<'

Wow, the first wall that was ever dedicated to me! :D Thank you!

I like how abstract it looks, with the cluttered rooftops, worn walls, and the red lanterns hanging.. There is a sort of windy feel to it, the way the lines were drawn and the wispy style of painting.. Kind of reminds me of the good old style Chinatown used to be painted years ago cum a little Italian Impressionist touch.. Don't know if I'm getting it right. ^_^' I do love how rugged the roofs look though. :D It definitely has that sort of whimsical yet homely feel of Miyazaki's, even if it doesn't look like his art style..

Sorry if my comment is a little off, I'm flipping through the galleries, watching Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo and reading D Gray Man at the same time.. LOL. But nonethe less, this wall is great!

I do so love your style... It's reminds me so much of the feeling I get from Miyazaki's films.. Fave I shall...
