Well, here I go with my first vector. I don`t even need to say for you to know
it`s my first.
Anyways, I tried really hard to make this vector look pro-ish. I`m pretty sure
it doesn`t look like it but I tried. For the background, I was not inspired at
all... obviously so as my tittle. 
I`m tired now and it`s 4 A.M. Too lazy to write more.

For a first go thats pretty awesome, I suck at art and wouldn't get anything looking anywhere near that good if my life depended on it

It looks very good for a first vector! The eyes could have used more depth (gradients) and there are some places where the lines are not so continuous or where the color layers go past the lineart.
But your vector is better than many of the things that so-called pros around here do
This is simply amazing for you first vector! And you tried it on a medium picture (speaking of the difficulty).

Finally I get around to commenting on this...
I can't even believe this is your first vector 0_0 It's awesome. Much better than my first! Your outlines impress me the most. You'd think you've been vectoring forever. I've seen a ton of "first vectors" and the outlines are never this neat 0_0 The colours are also impressive.
The only things I could suggest would be the eyes (they're fine, but to improve them you could've added an outline all the way around, maybe a gradient for the back layer, and straighter circles), and the jpeg quality (it's a bit low, but that's not really your fault. You can try this:
File>Save for web, click the little arrow at the top right somewhere, find "optimize to file size", type "2048", and press okay. It'll give you the highest quality possible.)

It's nice to see Haruhi with a different hairdo every now and then - but judging by the look on her face and her crossed arms, it appears that she may not quite have this style in mind! Great vector all the same - especially with the longer strands.
