Heimdall is the guardian of the gods and of the link between Midgard and Asgard, the Bifrost Bridge. He was considered the hawk of Odin was destined to be the last of the gods to perish at Ragnarok when he and Loki would slay one another. -Wikipedia
This wallpaper was designed to allude to both the personallity of the character in the show and Heimdall's actually legend.
