I think it looks fine...had I not read your commentary, I wouldn't have thought that it wasn't satisfactory. In my eyes it's good, at least; the background seems to fit the two of them.

Hmm... maybe it's the poles sticking out from the building... or maybe some more colorful trees in the background? But really nice scans of the two boys... they are so cute!

Well, atthe max, something seems to be a little to fake for the scenery, so maybe if you make it a little more livelier it might match the animation design... but that's the most I can think of... ^^'' -

not much room for improvement, it's plenty lovely just as it is now! :) The only suggestion I would give is to somehow brighten the colors up maybe, the BG seems slightly washed out... but I still love it though, the traditionl-style Japanese home looks great with the manga scan! ^^
