At first glance you might mistake this doujin for a scan. However, upon closer inspection you will notice that it is actually a very high quality CG-rendering. Clean, crisp lines and beautiful colors/shading make this a piece not to be missed!

Wow, nice work! I've looked at your other work, you have a ton of talent. I really like how you made her CG-like. Truly an amazing piece of art. Can I ask what program you use to do these CG-like renderings?

That's a really gorgeous CG work! The painting is really neat, and I really love the background and the perspective here. The sky might need some clouds but that's just my preference. This is absolutely beautiful.

When did you draw this? I don't remember seeing you working on it last year.

I'm pleasantly surprised by this picture. It is very different from your normal style. She is smiling, the mood is light, and no blades.

    Nyuu... ^_~

WOW. This is one amazing doujinshi! It looks so incredible and professional. You're awesome at CG style. Nayuki looks gorgeous; I love the dress and the shoes. The background she's running on is bright and detailed. The sky seems a bit empty, but it doesn't make it any less amazing. A well-deserved highlight!

This picture is just powerful with color, and a vivd image. Skin shading is exellent. however, the hand that shows(the other was conveniently hidden) looks as if she has a muscular disorder even though the form is good. topnotch pic overall!

good, very good.thank for the picture shan,i love nayuki very much

First off, let me say this is incredible. The precision and detail and perspective. The highlight is definitely well-deserved.

Yet... it's so close to be 100% awesome, but for some reason I don't feel like it's quite there yet.
Why? It's too clean, and therefore more stiff than anything else.

The bricks are smooth without texture. The edges are sharp, but bricks have rough edges and the walls are indented where the mortar connects them. Also, the floor tiles look factory new. It's outdoors, and one would expect imperfections as bird droppings and acid rain damage. Also, all the shadows are sharp, but as they get further away from the object, the blur a bit.
I think you did a great job rendering the background as is, but there's too many little details that keep it from being as realistic as it could be.

Now on the girl. Well, this is just a personal thing really, but the hard detail of the background really doesn't match the soft shading of an anime character... Well, her left hand seems to lack wrist bones, the hand just connects straight to the arm... and the shading on her right leg doesn't curve where the knee is. (also, her hair is really really neat, but that just could be my aversion to neatness talking...) But other than that, it's actually a better figure than I can draw, and Il ike her clothes.

I could go into how there's no backlight from the sunlight reflecting off the ocean, but that'd be overkill.
And as for the sky, hey, skies are clear sometimes, so I actually like it.

I'm sorry for the lengthy critique. ^_^'
I do like this piece a lot, and that's why I do it.

    Cute CG anime girl

  18. jaymac Jul 16, 2008

I don't know much about this particular anime (i.e. Kanon), but Nayuki here is a neat one nonetheless. She looks like a cross between Konoka of Mahou Sensei Negima and Mitsuki from Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien (judging by the dark blue hair (reminiscent of Mitsuki) and the rounded face and bright eyes (reminiscent of Konoka)).
