Sinister type background? What? If you wanted to do that, i think you should make her expression a bit more evil :)
I'd say the background color works except i think it might be shining out a bit too much.

I love it when a wallpaper comes together better than I expected. When I started this, I thought I wanted a black and white sinister type background but that just didn't seem to happen and looking back, I really don't think that would've worked well with the softness of this scan. So I played with some textures and color gradients, trying to bring out the blue and purple from the rose and her lips and put in the circular lines as a sort of ethereal energy
This was a birthday present for a friend of mine on SheezyArt.
