I'm back and I bring you Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei art.
The scan is from the cd of the first season's ending song Zessei Bijin which supposedly means unparalleled beauty, now you know where the wallie's title comes from (not really creative). I loved the ending and opening for the series, the songs as well as the animation.
The scan was vectored and then I just threw in patterns and textures, it still has the style of the original but it looks not as dark as the original. I actually took the chance and used some textures I wanted to use for ages, especially the texture on the kimono. It really breaks the overall asian look but I couldn't resist the urge. Some small details were changed because I thought it would look better. The background is very simplistic unless you use the Art Nouveau version (which is still pretty simple).

Textures and patterns were taken from: Appendix Squared, DA! and Dioma.Deviantart.com

Ooh, looks nice. I think the lines might pop out too much, being white and all, but otherwise, there is some nice use of patterns shown here, and I like the mysteriousness of it. Keep it up!

Ooooh, this is awesome. I really like the colors that you chose. And the use of textures is supurb! Great job! ^^

Personally I like the simple version more than the art nouveau (even as a AN-fanatic) The patterns make it looks funky, the light colours are very nice. Oh and I just love SZS so it's great to see some Zetsubou love XD

So pretty. It feels warm & fresh. Not cluttered with busy textures or patterns, but simplistic & leaves a lot to your imagination. Nice!

I like this version better as the outlines distract my eyes from the focal point, namely the character. Interesting choice of white for the lines, although I think it's somehow fitting (the more I look at the wallpaper, the more I like it).
