Kind of a lot to say for this wallpaper...so let's get into it.

Everything in the picture was vectored, a few patterns were used however (but very few, (I tried to keep it to a minimal). I've been working on this project for about two weeks off and on. I wish it didn't take that long..but when it comes to priorities..video games outweigh Photoshop by just a tad...

Difficulty: It wasn't that hard, there was just a ton of stuff to do.
Time: Over the course of 2 weeks--30 hours approx. Enma's vector actually only took about 30 minutes tops to do...lol.
Modifited areas: I tried to keep this as close as possible to the original scan (which was mine from the card that came in one of the DVDs). The only major difference is the background. I hate spiders...so there is no way I'm going to make a wallpaper that I will be looking at for the next few months with a big spider on it... Also, a minor change was the sheet with the flames on it. The original had skeletons on it. I tried doing the skeletons, but the quality of the scan was so hard to make out all of the detail, I just made my own design...
About the background: It is just a room (maybe Enma's? Who knows). Yes...there is electricity in the room too...hence the spotlights on the ceiling.
Size: 97.3 Mb for the vector, 43.8 Mb for the wallpaper

Well I know reading descriptions is boring...so I'll end it there. I really hope everyone enjoys this wall.

omg, knew I'd love this somehow from the thumb.
The fact that it's mostly vectored is just amazing. I like the abstract background.
Eh, I don't know how some people have patience to vector, I find it very boring work.
But the result is lovely, definite fav~

  2. BlackSponge Apr 10, 2008

The mixed BG fits quite well with Enma for some unknown reason.
    Cool wall dood.
The effort only increases its goodness.
    Very well done indeed.

Wonderfully vectored! I'd have lost patience working on something like that!

To the point where it creeps your eyes out?

For that is what I'm feeling right now.

    FEEL IT!

I... I... I was freaking halfway through this! And I even made the skeletons! T_T. Oh well I'll have to drop this and start looking for a new JigokuShoujo scan I like. This of course would not be the case if you work wasn't of such high quality as it is. The vectoring is very neat, the patterns on Enma's dress look fabulous.
Lol, good job on NOT making the spider (I also hate them) and I'm really happy this wall is widescreen resolution (you guess why XD)

Wow, I don't know where to look first!
Your vectoring is clean and beautiful as always. I love the variety of patterns and the contrast between simple Enma and the crowded background.
    Your best one yet.

Very colourful and very nice wallpaper there. The top right fabrics lack pattern, is it suppose to be like that?

  12. Hanahanoiday Apr 12, 2008

    it really astounds me!~^^

Yay! You've finally finished it! I really love the abundance of patterns used here. And the amazing thing is that most of them were vectored! Colours are also brighter than the scan's which is good since you did change the lighting a lot. Emma's room has spotlights, lol...nice job with gradients as usual. And of course, Emma was vectored wonderfully! You can't notice the hand size thingy when it's all done anyway. I love the butterflies pattern and those glossy, water-like patterns on the cloth on top of it. You redesigned that dark brown cloth well; I find the skeletons creepier than the spider anyway. Haha.

Oh I cannot really bear to do this part; nitpicking. But it's good for you and me... all right, the whole wall is wonderful! However, what could be fixed are these: shadows. The fans lack shading, though the patterns are just great. I suggest a slight gradient? and some hint of shadow at the folds? Same for those curving strips..And that fold at the bottom right of the wall looks just a little bit too solid. But I know that's how it looked in the scan so I don't blame you... I have my own idea about the lighting for the fabrics on the left; however, I suspect that it's my own style and that it won't quite blend with the cleanness of yours..

Aww, poor kashikosa! That's too bad... but it can't be helped...Scott's already submitted it..

This may surprise you but this wall was inspiring! ^.^ I was stuck with the ending of a story for a competition that I hadn't been taking seriously until the teacher told me that she would submit it IF I edited it. Well, it's hard to get this teacher to accept my essays and stuff (I already 'lost' 2 big cash prizes because of that...) so I grasp my chances when I can...and I wasn't going to send in a low effort story. So there I was, thinking on how to end it without it looking too rushed but not too wishy-washy...then I came on to Minitokyo, saw your wall finally in the Popular section, fullviewed and voila! inspired to write...that's what really good walls do to me..so this is a really good compliment! :) Haha.

    Well, see you!
