Song illustration #13: Sailor Moon - Beautiful (by Mandalay)
OMG it's another song illustration! And finally a sparkly-texture-y wallpaper!
:D I haven't
submitted one like that in ages. I had the idea of this wall right after seeing
Rynax's lovely vector
and she was kind enough to provide a bigger version when I asked her to ^^ Thank
you very much!
Basically, Beautiful is a lovely song, and I'm talking about the 7" Canny Mix (or was it 12"?). I wanted to illustrate that calm feeling I get whenever I listen to it. For that, I used several textures from DA! Desktop Anime and Yana Stock and a few starry brushes from Scully7491 (on her body). I drew the thorns myself and vectored the outline of a lotus flower - this image. Also used some gradients (some I made myself, some default).
I hope you like it as much as I do (and believe me, I rarely like a wallpaper of mine after seeing it so often during the creation process X-P) and if you're wondering why her head is cut off, here's the answer: I wanted to focus on her body (wings, position of hands, smile) instead of her face (not that I don't like it, on the contrary!) Thank you for your support! :D
