Honey and Clover is one of my fave anime series. When I saw this scan of Hagu-chan, I imagine she looked happy because she found the 4-leaf clover she was looking for. Hence the title, which translates to "that 4-leaf clover".
I started this a long time, but been lazy to work on it >__< ...
Extracted the scan. I thought to vector it, but I liked the sketchy lines. Vectored and painted the clovers using some reference photos. I wanted it to look as if you're underneath the clovers looking up at Hagu, but I dunno if it looks like the underside of the clovers like it's supposed to :\
I was kinda sad that I had to blur the clovers (to show distance). Here's a sample of what it looks like unblurred.
I was gonna use stock photos for clouds, but I found the brushes from lunaregina worked better.

The unblurred clovers look way lovelier than the one here. >_<
Love the sweet perspective, the scan could be better with sharper vectored one but I think the extraction works okay as well. Nice lighting anyway.

I love ithe perspective & the soft colors XD
well done ;) -
yeah honey and clover wall! :D:D
the clovers and the colors you used are great XD
i;m using for my desktop
thank you very much! -
I really like the idea, with the 4 leaf clover, and the composition overall is beautiful.
I have to admire the art from Honey and Clover.
However, I think the texture is too much. Sure, a texture is always welcomed... but I think a bit more opaque, or a different blending option.... a Soft Light with opacity 50-60% perhaps?
And the clovers look really good, I like your painting, it's realistic. -
Hagu-chan is always so cute~ <33
Another great art from you ^^
I really like the Yotsuba~
The only thing that's weird is the scan... It needs to be more blended in with the background >_< -
It's a very lovely wallpaper, its simplicity is the main reason it attracted my attention :) Looks like a lot of patience went into the clovers, it's a shame you had to blur them, as you said. The perspective is also innovative :) Adding it to my favorites, please keep up the good work!

Aww, I love Honey and Clover~ glad she found a yotsuba no clover~ xDDD
Well, the blur is really cool, and I liked the plain sky, it calls the attention to the right place~ the angle and composition is really cool too~ but I feel the right side of Hagu, where the white clouds gather in the back~ it could get a softer extraction, it's too.. sharp, I don't know how to explain... xDD
Otherwise, great work! Thanks for the 1280x1024 link too, helped a lot~ >w</~ -
I kinda missed it when this wall came out.
Anyways, I really like your interpretation of the scan, makes for a perfect composition. -
yay fore honey and clover, omg i adore this wallie,it looks great...

I'm so glad you didn't vector the scan, since it looks so sweet and warm the way it is.
I have a feeling the 1280 version of this wall is gonna be on my desktop a LOT. It reminds me of everything I really liked about your Fantastic Children wall, 'Chiisana Hana' Thanks for sharing ^^ -
Woah, how did I miss this?
It's BEAUTIFUL!merged: 06-25-2008 ~ 01:00pm
Wait... is Hagu-chan SUPPOSED to have 6 fingers? o_o -
I really love this; something about it makes me nostalgic for a windy day. Thank you for sharing! This has inspired me, no doubt. The simple colors are wonderful, and it just looks so great. I really like the unusual angle, because it adds a nice depth to the wind in your wallpaper. I would have liked to see her vectored, but since you liked the lines that is a creative choice. Again, thank you for sharing!
