Yes, this is not a April's Fools ^^
Oh, I thaught I would never submite this
has kindly asked me to make a drawing of our favorit
mascot (a long time ago). Since I was kind of busy this past times I found it
dificult to do all I needed to, but now I plan on making a little come-back. And
plus, I need to show that even if it's with delay, I always get the job
done!
Fortunately I had some time to practice my digital coloring tehniques and since now I finally learned how to use my tablet more efeciaantely I find easier to color my works.
It was kind of a challange to make her. I tried a couple of other times in the past, but I am just not used to the Carmelian stile so I kept it low. But then I finaly said "get a pen, here's the paper ... now draw!" The eyes and hands (as allways) was most chalanging, but I am unusualy pleased with the result. I know I kind of inflicted my own stile on her, but I at least managed to keep her destinctive traids "still there" as they say ^^
Usualy I scan my image and then simply colro it, leaving the outline to be the original pancil/ink outline, but with this one - since I kind of sketched it out at shool and it got a bit too messy to be repared - I switched back to vectors (ah, it has been soo long since I last used the pen tool that I have almost fotgot how pleasent it is to use it)
Now to say the time!
- sketch took 10 minutes (image reference used was this
beautiful artwork by the wonderful Teruchan at devinatART)
- outline took about 3 tp 4h (i've been getting a little rusty)
- coloring job took me 4h, background inclooded (wich would mean my 4th attemot
at it + extra time to think)
Overrall, I think I'm dooing better, but I still need to improve on both speed
and tehnique. I'm planing to have my own personaly developed stile till I turn
20, so that would mean a lot of drawing ^^'
P.S. Not shure if this should be vector ore doujin, but I picked doujin because I kind of used the brush tool a lot.
Now my' groups and ranting will be done!

She's sooooo cute! Great job on putting your own spin on the mascot! (Teehee... it kind of looks like she's swinging her staff like a golf club... or a baseball bat...
) I also like the fading of the colors in the background.
