Wow, I haven't submitted anything since October... I've just been so busy lately ^_^' Well, this is the first Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle wallpaper that I have submitted, I think. I've attempted a few in the past, but I have never liked any as much as I do this one. As a whole I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out.
Time: Over a month? (I've worked on it in small chunks)
Layers: 46 (after I merged all of the layers from vectoring &
painting Sakura)
Hardest Part: Making it look watery o_o
Inspiration: "Watermark" by Enya... It's such a pretty
track.
I actually haven't gotten this far in the manga, but when I saw this scan on the internet I fell inlove and wanted to wall it. I vectored the outline and base colors for Sakura, then went back and painted the details. Originally her dress had no real detail to it, but I thought it looked too plain that way and added some patterns to her outfit. The idea was to make it look like she's almost in an under water cathedral, but I didn't want it to look too busy and so I kept the tweaked and repainted cathedral hallway somewhat hard to see... Well, I thought it looked better that way and gave it a more illusionary feel. I hope you like it!

I love the watery scene. Eh hmph let me spill poetry(:-P) ;
A cavern of halls and pillars stretched out,
A darkening tunnel behind her;
She hovers, neither touching air nor ground;
Nay, there is but water.
Water that flows and splashes,
Iridescent flashes of light at once,
Murky shadows the next,
Bubbles are put forth, the lacy froth of champagne, [gah, going overboard here]
A wisp of cloth coils around her,
Fluid in the water yet rising for dry air:
But she sees this not;
Her eyes and mind are shut from the wondrous beauty around;
But in another stranger world,
A voice speaks, beckoning yet warning.Okay, that just came out straight from my head. And I am embarrassed by how..flowery it became. But I really do love the shades of blue and purple you use. The pillars and all that disappearing into the dark add a touch of mystery to it. And unconsciously even though I hadn't read the title, I wrote that last part in the poem. Beautiful piece you have made. It really is done your style. Not that I have seen much of your work, just your userpage which was gorgeous. So, obviously I fave this.
Well, hope the poem was to your liking...not many artworks make me create poetry...
