FULL VIEW! You can barely see all the details in the preview.
I'm such a master at creative titles. XP
Anywho, this is an envelope that I finished today. It has a picture on the back as well. (Unfortunately, it's a basic, stamp-like picture, so I don't think it'll meet MT regs.) T'was a lot of fun, and I'm probably going to do several more envelopes and sell them sometime.
I've always loved the design and concept of a gryphon. The herd (flock? pride?) in Chronicles of Narnia made me so happy. Can't tell you how many times I've watched that movie just for the scenes with them in it. (Reference material, y'know?) This is the first gryphon that I've drawn where I've been very statisfied with the results. I had a lot of fun coloring it, too. (LotR binge today; celebrating the completion of two BIG tests today. Gotta do something in between the scenes with Aragorn, Eomer, and Faramir, y'know.)
Media:
Pencil
Copic and Prismacolor Markers
Faber-Castell PITT pens
Time:
Around seven hours from sketch to completion
EDIT:
I'm so happy. WE HAVE THE EDIT BUTTONS BACK! YAAAAAAAY! Thank you, admins, for
all your hard work.

Lol to the title... yes, very creative.
Lovely envelope though... I'd love to get a letter in a work of art like that some day! Beautiful job on the colors and the shading.... especially the beak! Keep up the great work!
wow details are just lovely,if i'm not mistaken, that;s blood on the wings....anyway it's beautiful!
This is your best yet. Simple as that.
Keep up the good work!
Awesome envelope! That's amazing!
damn cool! the detail is fantastic!
Suh-weet. It actually looks like one of the artworks on a Faber-Castell package.
You have an advantage on color properties, because I acknowledge Faber-Castell's efficacy. I'm currently using Colleen, but it's not that good when I attempt to do light colors on paper, and requires me to use white often to soften my lines.
Superb coloring skills. I like the eyes, as if it has intellect.
Wow great work! must've taken a long time finish that! 7 hours? whoo!
Hope to see more animal stuff! ^__^
