Nice wall ^^ Nice job on the shadow....it makes the bg look like he's standing in front of one of those engineering layouts. I also like how you matched the colors too ^^ The font looks pretty good. Hmm....you could possibly move the shadow a bit closer to roy. But other than that i see nothing wrong. Nice work :) !!

Ok well I'm not all that satisfied with how this wall came out, so if anyone could suggest ways that I might improve it I'd appreciate it. I was thinking some smaller gears that were solid colored scattered around but I donno... that might looks stupid.
Ok now for the credit: The Roy pic was posted by Hittokiri Zero at AnimePaper.net. I was feeling lazy so the techy circle things are from endlessrain.org (they are a brush). I figured out how to make the gears from a tutorial I found.
So yes, suggestiong on how to improve it! Also, is that an appropriate font? (I always have such a hard time picking out fonts. -_- )
Edit: Ok so well I took a bunch of the suggestions posted here and fixed this wall. I wasn't going to bother changing it but then I decided 1.) Roy deserves better :D 2.) There aren't a lot of Roy walls so this one will probably get looked at a lot and I might as well make it be the better version. I fixed the bluriness, shrunk the font, and moved the shadows. Much much better. Thanks everyone for the criticism!

Good wallpaper, but the image you used was either blurry and that was what you had to work with, or you blurred it too much. Good job though.

If you have an idea, you should try it. Never don't try things because 'it might look stupid'. One of the best ways to get really good and making walls is to experiment! Always be trying new things, always think up different ideas on how to do things. Experiment a lot and you'll find that you really can make something beautiful with just messing around a little.
About the font.
i really like it a lot, but I think you could probably make it a little smaller. It seems like it was squished in there. But it's beautiful font! I really like it, I think if fits nicely
i agree with halcyonTwilight, the shadow seems a bit far, maybe you could move it a little closer :)

Thanks everyone for the comments! Actually the orignial image was grainy so I blurred it to try to cover that up. I should of just been less lazy and recolored it. -_- I will lessen the blur though, move the shadows closer to him, and shrink the font (cause yeah it is a little squished looking) and see how it turns out.
And thanks Electrastar for getting the pun in the title, I was beginning to think either no one got it. :D

EDIT: Definitely improved! :D Roy, Roy, he's our man! If he can't do it no one can, yay! *feels a tad silly* I've always had a feminine side, I think. Um, anyways.

Much better! The font fits nicely now and the shadow doesn't take up half the wall. Much better!!
But now...I don't want to sound to complane-y... but... it seems a bit too dark now. You could probably lighten it up a bit... :sweat:

Very nice. I'm suprised you don't love it! I really like the varied shadows, it adds detail to an overall theme background. And it's not unnecessarily busy, which is also a plus. Great tribute to Roy ;D
