Shinn and Rey during their Academy times. The original scan is from MapleRose's thread. (Actually, I think it's a photo, judging from the piece of paper covering part of Shinn's leg...) What I wouldn't give for this poster. It's only available in Japan, and I don't live there, nor will I have any chance to go there in the near future, so.
But I figure that even if I can't have it, I can always vector it. XD
The easiest part was the uniforms, and the hardest had to be Rey's face and hair. *eyebrow twitch* He's sort of smaller than Shinn, and doing Shinn's eyes was already hard enough. I took an hour or two to get his eyes looking at least not so weird. I think it still looks weird, but this is the most I can do, since I don't know what it's supposed to look like. The angle he's at is a little awkward.
I'll always suck at backgrounds...The sun was made using a Supernova filter, then setting it to Screen. Then I used some brushes for clouds.
Part of the title stems from the colour of the sky, of course. And also because both the boys look so hopeful and contented here, which is really different from what happened towards the end of the series.
