An updated version of my character design.
I found the image a challenge of 3 days work as I wanted to break out from my normal style a bit and try a new coloring and drawing style.
It has turned out better than I imagined from the line art and I feel pretty happy with this change.
Azhure in Caster (magic user) form from a series I'm drawing called Spelling Chaos.
Hopefull I'll eventually finish a doujinshi of this so I can tell the story of this world I'm creating in my mind.
Tools: Adobe Photoshop CS, an iMac, & Wacom Tablet Graphire 3

This is stunning that it could have been drawn by a professional. The line work around the figure is confident, the concept & design are original, and the colours...
Words can not describe just how visually powerful your use of colour is!
I smell a highlight here...
OMG! This one is perfect! *o*~
A master piece!
Awesome work, I'm going to keep an eye out for your stuff. This has a solid professional level look to it, you did especially well on the reflection highlight in the hair. That is more detail than I usually see in half the vectors on MT and you did it in a doujinshi.
Good luck on completing your whole doujinshi as well, if it all turns out as good as this one, it will definitely be something to check out.
Good effects, I like the lightning and the ground. Although the star in a circle is too common nowadays. Splendid character design too.
the proportions are really well drawn (something that I haven't mastered myself xD; )
though I suggest you work on the expression more , it looks a bit stiff . imo
the characters' expression is the most important thing to accomplish first
rather than other stuff .
and your overall technique is already good
the tone on the skin could do more work too , so it fits with all the blue , try different shading colours , it'll look more natural . also try adding more shading on the hair . if you want to go for a simplistic colouring (almost flat colours or so) lighten the lineart a bit , so it would look softer .
but you did a nice work ~ keep it up !
