WHOOT! Finally a wallpaper that I did 100%. I scanned the page, vectored it, and then wallpapered it. Usually I'll find a scan somewhere else, like an image board or a manga download site, then vector it, but this time I felt like scanning something myself. This is like, a big thing for me. ;__;
On to the wallpaper! I decided to add the flock of crows to illude to the fact that a flock of crows follows Ikki around in the manga. Everything else is pretty basic and simple. Though I did add a filter to make the background look like aged paper, topped off with a minor film-grain effect.
Layers: 50+
Software: Microsoft Digital Image Suite Editor
Filters: Old Paper, Minor Film-Grain
Enjoy!

This is really good, but... strange. The vector is great & funky with lovely warm autumnal colours. The background is original & emotive. But there doesn't seem like a connection between the vector & the background. Ringo is happy & lively, but the barren tree & flocking crows look more like something out of an old horror movie.
All of that aside, you've made a great wall, and that's a funky vector! You could even post the vector & the scan too.
I had a reason for that (which I will edit in once that option is fixed). See, the horror movie-ish background is really Ikki's background. See, if Ringo was out of the picture, and Ikki was alone, his color scheme and pose would fit the background perfectly. But then I made Ringo's colors more bright and happy to signify that there is always something beautiful hidden within an ugly situation. That's why I colored it the way I did. By contrasting Ikki's overall character [in the wallpaper], she becomes the focus, which is what I wanted.
And I would post the scan and vector, but the scan quality kinda sucks, and I seemed to have missplaced the vector D:
Dude.What can I say?I'm amazed by your work.Your effort paid off and it made in Elite Gallery.
Real punky if seen by me.

I like the way they step out of the bg and the colors you used.
