~ merry christmas ~

Sorry, dissappeared again and I've only this to show.
It's my first finished painting, and since I dont know anything about colour, I just had fun experimenting. I learned a lot with this, and I've still a long way to go, so if you have the time please give me some critic.

-acrylic on canvas
-inspired by bjork
-dedicated to my sister

~ and have a happy new year too, even though it's still a bit early ~

Highlighted

Chosen by gaara-no-shukaku and euna

This one requires no explanation at all why it's getting highlighted. It's just a fabulous piece of artwork whichever way you look at it. This is definitely one of the best doujinshi seen in the year 2007.

Proposed by gaara-no-shukaku and highlighted by euna.

incredible explosion of night colors and striking contrast of tones, amazing character as well, love the way you played with the composition of the body.

    Oh shi-
You're back again. Now with even more awesomeness - I've never seen you do colour work before, and this is amazing.. Just make it more often than every 6 months...

I love the color combination... never seen you work in color before.. but to do something like that with acrylics... wow, I don't even know how to handle that stuff X__x

Oh that was fast Gai C: C:

HAHA I admire your talent of course, sorry but you probably know this kind of thing is too creepy for me to embrace completely. :D The exposed spinal cord did me in C: However, the colour is wonderful for this kind of theme, it looks professional, very very good. And acrylic paint of all things! Its amazing how it turned out so neat. But next time maybe more frills and effeminate stuff huh? And I'll be clapping louder promise :D

*jaws drops* XD it's so good. I can't paint for sheep! so I can't really give some critic back to you BUT. I will say "I like it" and "it's very original." I like it and it's very original.

Are you by chance a fan of the Shin Megami/Persona series? It resembles Kaneko's artwork greatly. X-P

I'm a fan of traditional media, really awesome job with the acrylics. I wish I could see this in person.

ageha still has to be my favorite piece from you but this is very impressive, especially for a first finished experimental painting. The primary color scheme may be a bit one dimensional for my taste but I like the powerful imagery. And love your contours - you have formidable technical skills.

Not to say that your earlier works were bad, but you seem to have improved exponentially. ^^ How exciting! I look forward to seeing more of your work!

a really nice piece of art

  20. Chingers Jan 06, 2008

This is very nice work. The flowing lines and bold colours are beautiful. I love how that contrasts with her calm/blank expression. The full image seems kinda unclear/low res. Is that due to the camera/scanning?

  21. Shkira Jan 10, 2008

I'm VERY impressed with this. How much was pre-sketched? Getting those hair/wires all in there without it being messy takes somethinking and skill. You pulled it off nicely! I love the detail in the face, and you used different colors to highlight in an interesting way that makes the painting more fun to look at then if it was done conventionally. Awesome job! :D

    I think it's WONDERFUL!

  23. GintheTwilightswords Jan 15, 2008

To call this unique would be an understatement, for it is much more than that.Mere words couldn't begin to explain the amount of beauty, detail, and splendor these piece encompasses.I don't even know where to start on about what I like the most on the painting XD.I would have to say it would be how the piece gives a vision of the real and surreal;you did more than an excellent job with making the woman seem humanlike while revealing something is very unnatural about her.

This has to be one of the best pieces I've seen from since I've been a member on this site.Magnificent work,I'm very impress with how far you have come ^-^.

This could be in a famous musuem somewhere in the world. :-) :-) :-) To show both the Human side as well as the forces that influence the Nature of Humans would be an Enigma. She is beautiful to say the least. The shell of her body, broken shows a weakness that shows a Human quality that is unique.
The clours U uesd are a riot. Love it. This has to be an original on your part. What ever influence you to do this, watching scary movies on your part. I would be wondering which movie influenced your decision to do this artwerk. Me I think it was "The Thing" by John Carpenter.
I am in awe of your art skills (No ***** ;-) U have a sinfully, decadent skill that should be exploited to the max.
I haven't even open this up in full view. Just looked at at the reduced size ;-)
