My very first submission on MT. It's of Dawn/Hikari, with her first Pokemon, Piplup performing an icy wind attack.
The sketch took a little over an hour to do, and the same for the coloring. So that's a total of around 3 hours, I think?
I used a pretty cruddy pencil which smudged a lot. . . which is why Dawn/Hikari's skin appears to be a bit greyish, especially her left hand. I did my best to erase those marks, but it didn't work out so well. . . OX
Anyways, does anybody have any suggestions to prevent all the pencil smudges? Even if you suggest I buy a certain kind of pencil, that would be helpful too! Pretty much, I used the same pencil I use to take notes in school X-P Yes, I know it's not good!
The hardest part was foreshortening the left arm. . .I think it turned out okay. For the coloring, I used colored pencils. Tan, yellow and brown for the skin; several shades of red and pink for the scarf, skirt and boots; and a black gradient for the shirt and socks. I used my typical smooth blending technique. . .if anyone has any suggestions for improvement on this, that would also be much appreciated!
Anyways. . .hope you enjoy. . . I tried my best. . . :\
