A beautiful combination of a simple yet graceful vector with rich illustrious textures. What's not to love?

Wow. That has to be the most unimaginative title that I've ever used. But it fits with what I was wanting to portray, so I guess that is what matters most.

Inspiration: Kimono Fabric
This is a vector/wallpaper of a piece of Kimono Fabric that I found online and fell in love with. I love kimono fabric and the old style of Japanese dress, and this allowed me to make a wallpaper with both in in one. I used mostly fabrics (and some origami paper) that I scanned myself, but some came from another website that will be credited below. I altered some of the image during vectoring, but I tried to keep it the same for the most part, and I lengthened it out to make it fit widescreen. I wanted the bold lines and textures to make it feel a little like a cut-out and have a bit of a vintage flare with the colors and fabrics. I'm pleased with how it turned out, so I hope you like it!
P.s. - I'll add the standard screen version whenever photobucket decides to stop messing up the link >_<

you used patterns on every part of the kimono and still made it look balanced and not overwhelming, that's a scoop around, like a rainbow of traditional art you did as you said a very elegant, classic look on this wall, nice job.
just think that maybe the "elegance" text is not that neccesary, it shows by itself anyway. -

Really nice work here! I'm a big admirer of all the traditional art in Japan (especially of kimono art and ukiyo-e) so I was highly attracted to this...
I love the bold use of textures, and the fact you preserved the feeling one gets from the original image on the kimono. This obviously deserves a fav and that's just what it gets ^^ -

I love kimono fabric also, and you have a lovely selection of fabrics here! You did a great job of capturing the texture and "feel" of the fabric as well! Thank you!
