"Angel's Egg ( Tenshi no Tamago ) is a Japanese anime feature film produced by Tokuma Shoten in 1985. A collaboration between popular artist Yoshitaka Amano and director Mamoru Oshii, it incorporates surrealistic and existentialist qualities but very little dialogue, making it a commonly cited example of progressive anime."

Took me about six hours of active work and two more days of pondering and meddling to finish this wall. I chose the title because that's my association when I think about that girl, somehow too innocent ( too trustful may fit as well ).
Maybe you're sick of my thick outlines but I guess it's just my style of vectoring. Personally I think it's pretty hard to vector most of Amano's art, wonder why I always end up doing it anyways... Maybe you also think it looks empty but I decided against text and much stuff in the background, so you can simply gaze at her peaceful face.

I don't think this anime is very well known ( let's say compared to the mainstream stuff, Naruto or Bleach for example), but I found it very pleasant. Even though there really is very little dialogue, I found the imagery and music really make up for it ( if you think little dialogue is a flaw that is). It's rather hard to understand the movie and I have to admit I haven't been able to come up with an interpretation, but it's fun for me to look for possible meanings and symbols.

Hope you enjoy this a little and because DREAM always wants 1600*1200 resolution, you get it in 1600*1200 this time.

I think the line art is amazing, cause it can stand there alone without any shading. It looks great with thick outlines, gives a strong impression to the soft pastel you've used. Nice job!

The simple lines really stand out. Full of Simplicity :)

Angel's Egg is one of the most challenging et cerebral anime out there. Amano-sama is much harder to vector with all his light, fine lines. Lady Erdbeermilch, I love your unique vectoring style- it is very soft yet retains details. I am drawn to the details on her face and her hair.

The anime is definitely hard to watch without a broader knowledge of Christian symbology and can seem meaningless to many people. Not my favourite, though definitely one of Mamoru Oshii's best works.
BTW, I hope you can feel the lovin' I am sending you for the great addition to my Yoshitaka Amano wallpapers' collection :) .
