Whew... finally finished my new Vector... my fifth one so far...
But alas, why does it look so simple even though it was rather nasty to make?
The problem is that I tried a new technique which just wasn't my style... it
ended up causing quite some trouble for me... well, whatever
Done in PS CS3; ~45 Layers; time: hard to say... it was done in the course of 3
days... but I took a long break in the middle...
Source was this
scan from the anime 100 Stories/Requiem from the Darkness; the character is
called Ogin 'the puppeteer'
Well, it was nice to work with a scan for a change, but some parts were
extremely dark (especially her hair) and it was more of a guessing game how it
ought to look like...
The hardest parts for me was her dress... then the eyes. I'm not sure why the
dress caused me so much trouble... it doesn't look so difficult...
The hair was some work, but aside from the extremely dark areas it wasn't
troublesome to make.
I ditched the unidentifiable object (stone?) in the foreground and just added
some more grass...
The background was inspired by some of my own photos of Huang Shan
Thanks again, for providing me with the scan, DREAM
Well, I hope you like it, C&C is welcome and I'll be very grateful for any
full-views/comments/favs
Now I'm gonna enjoy a nice BBQ dinner and flamenco music with some friends and
wish you all a nice evening

*~thumbsUP~*
I think i'm in love thanks for the post.
yeah i am quite pleased with your vectoring of Lady Odin- the lines are tight and the colors are well coordinated. the only possible crit i have is that: i would have perhaps used a gradient on your mountains and made the bg a darker shade of blue. to me Lady Odin must be presented in the darkness.
if you ever scale your vectors into a wallpaper, do let me know.
