This picture I'm very happy with. Very happy with.

*SPOLIER for the game Okami*

It all started as I was running around in Okami, and discovered an ice-covered land. As I innocently run inside the nearest shelter with a fire inside (a fire not started by me, anyway), I'm suddenly faced with the inhabitant and owner of that shelter. Thus I meet the great warrior, Oki: at the other end of his sword. Not wanting to destroy his own possessions in order to rid himself of this hairy and (more than likely, albeit she is supposed to be a god) stinky intruder, he runs outside, with the white wolf close on his heels, curious about this solitary warrior. Duuuude, that fight was by far my favorite up to this point in the game. The guy transforms into a wolf, for goodness sake! How much cooler can he get?!

*END SPOILER*

So, I immediately decided to chronicle my favorite characters. I spent a good while sketching this one out. Again, I've tried to immitate the Sumi-e style from the game with my marker, but as to my success in that, I don't think I've accomplished that yet. No, my pride and joy cmes from when I started adding color. Ahhhh... Then the characters really came to life.

My biggest problem was coming up with a color for Amaterasu's kimono. True, she's a white wolf in the game, but in the picture from Wikipedia, her robe isn't completely white. I compromised with sun-rise type colors, fading from a peachy pink to yellow, and then white. The green obi is for that Divine Mirror she's so famous for carrying around on her back in all the official pictures from the game.

I'll stop my ranting now. Perhaps my brother is right? Perhaps I am a little obsessed with the game?
...
...
Nah. Obsessed people draw more than one picture for the game. XD

EDIT:
On another site, I was getting some feedback about the picture being a bit confusing. So I think I've got that fixed now. The wolves are definitely more of a focal point now. :D

Media:
Sketch Book paper (still not sure of the weight)
Pencil
Eraser
Faber-Castell Pitt Pens

Real cool! I just bought some Copic markers myself, and they're pretty challenging to work with. Good work!

but when you start doing Okami art as much as I do Zelda (I counted something like 400 doodles and quick pics in my sketchbooks... probably more because I lost a lot of them *_*) then you know you're obsessed. ;)
