Umm one of my first attempts at a wallpaper. Yeah i know it's very crap compared to the others on this site.

I wouldn't say crap. This is rather good, clean. The others you mean are top ;-)

Forgot to say : I would have removed the skull, it doesn't fit the colours on the background, and I would have placed a little more goth tint in it, maybe played a bit more with the text in some way...

Mmmm . . . I would have gotten rid of the skull, and definitely watch out for spelling mistakes too, hmmm? For example, 'deatails' should be spelled 'details'

Thank you for commenting i haven't had photoshop for more than a month so I'll try to get better and better.

This look good for a beginner, keep it up :)

some crits: there is a lot of "edge tear" - this is the jagged edges of the extracted scan. especially around her arms [notice how parts of it are outlined in black and others parts aren't] also her left arm- noticed how jagged the edges are?

i highly recommend learning the PEN TOOL. the pen tool is the ideal way to cleanly extract.
see these tutorials:

onto the design element: as the "death note" evokes a sense of finality and darkness i.e i would have used a bg of a very dark color such as black or a very dark brown etc rather than pink. way way too much text here. the "death rules" are fine but i would have limited "death note" to the top.
