Would've really liked to worked that in the wall somehow... but then I went with the lifespan date and was like yeah... enough text xD;;
I finished reading Death Note fairly recently and I gotta say, I liked how it ended... especially the bit with the girl-follower at the end. With that said I really love Light. He's one of the most interesting and twisted protagonists I've come across in recent manga readings, and he's hot too XD And L rocks. Near and Mello paled so much in comparison to L :E So a wall to express my love for these two awesome guys.
If you're thinking "oh noes not another black and white Death Note wall to add to the massive numbers of b&w Death Note walls out there already!" you're absolutely right, but it fits the series so well x) And I wanted to play around with monochrome vectoring a bit more, so definitely some experimentation going on in this wall. Overall I think it failed, mostly because of the pains of walling out of resolution... but yeah, am booting this one out the door. I got a lot of inspiration from this manga page, which prompted me to make this wall, and also this awesome deviation for its striking composition.
Light vectored from this scan; L and roman numerals from this scan. Torn pages roughly referenced a stock photo from Stock.XCHNG. Lastly, thanks to potat0es for being supportive and expertly answering my stupid questions about Death Note plot details xD;;

Yes... Death Note. ^^ I just finished watching Death Note and Death Note: The Last Name few weeks ago and I just <3 L. >.< He's just gorgeous (and cute!)
I don't mind the b&w of the wall, I have to say they just look great. From what I know Takeshi Obata's work are really hard to vector, and you just pulled it off, that's just awesome. I love the shades' vector. Very soft and subtle. I really enjoy this one.

My thoughts exactly - I managed the read the whole thing quite recently and I loved the story and the main characters.
I must admit, though, that the manga got really complicated towards the end - I had to read some chapters twice to untangle the plot... -

Very nice wallpaper you got here. So far I have to say that this is my favorite widescreen wallpaper. Since there aren't many wallpapers that suit my res I'm glad I found one this nice for my desktop.
