Well its been along time since I last submitted a vector image here on the site, heck I haven't even done one for more than a year after getting my new job and other things taking my time. Well for this image, I decided to use it since not a lot of MAR stuff has been posted on the site plus it was a good re-entry project to get the feel back to vectoring and using Illustrator again. The image itself I found on some random image board I was browsing through when I happen to see it. The image itself is most likely from the anime show I just don't know what episode or if it was used as a eye-catch in the OP/ED.
For vectoring it, I used Illustrator CS3 and used 44 layers + 100+ sub layers to create the outlines and fill in the colors using the Live Paint Bucket feature in Illustrator. I also used for the 1st time the brush feature in Illustrator with special THXs to Fluke for providing samples of his Haruhi .ai files on his website which allowed me to see how to properly add and use them in Illustrator for IMO greatly improve the artwork quality that had from my previous vectors. I also exported the image to Photoshop to add in the text and the background which is a pattern format that was made by RubelCreative. In total, it took me about 3 weeks to finish this image that including work, working on my website, living life, sleep and relearning Illustrator.

My next few projects I probably will be doing are some Arcueid vectors or something related to Tsukihime or Claymore since there are a few images from the official mangas that I would like not only to trace but to try to color in as well which I hope to improve my skills in that area.

For the top of her hair, I just improvised as I didn't want to leave both her
head and her legs crop at the same time.
