Kazuya Minekura's exceptional talent with pencil, ink, watercolour and brush has seen the Saiyuki manga novels
expanded through three anime series, two feature-length films and a vast array of art books and collectable memorabilia.
Likewise, Minekura's work has been a long-running art medium favourite to wear the UV WALLART tag.
Such is so, that this is the first time ever that the same primary art has been used twice over in a UV gallery
work!
Pisces Tea sees Minekura's hermaphrodite Goddess of Mercy completely
digitally recoloured and resting amid a backdrop of vivid rough-to-touch emerald and ivy greens. Natural floral, insect
and carp base elements are symbolic of the Great Kannon's femineity and foresight in freedom.
A sister, yet secular revision work from Amnesia Buddha, this piece's
cascading green themes are brighter than it's deep blue and floral based counterpart.
This work is also proudly presented in commemorative celebration for the Dalai Lama's 2007 OPEN ARMS: Embracing Kindness Australian Tour.
