Lately I've adopted the grunge style, using a lot of textures for my wallpapers.
And since I was mostly bored and had no ideas for a new project, I said to
myself "hey, why don't I look around on my computer and see if there are
any unfinished projects?"
As you can see, this one was unfinished 
At
first I was amazed at how poor the use of texture was (when I wasn't interested
in grunge stuff and didn't care what I added in), and commenced some heavy
research for textures and the likes!
Again, I used a text from the brilliant Edgar Allan Poe! I used it on my Masque of the Red
Death wallpaper too, since I have taken a liking to this author. It
all began with a book of adapted short stories, a few years ago. My dad thinks I
am too interested in morbid stuff, but he bought me the book And the
rest is history!

I think you went a bit overboard on the texturing. I assume it was intentional, but with that much texture it looks like a grainy scan one might find in a color newspaper.
