Artist Comment

I was commissioned for this piece and the only request I had beside the subject was "make it detailed". I can't help but think it's TOO detailed however ^^;;;
For those who can't tell, the pheonix is looking over its shoulder at the dragon.

NOTE: WM- a watermark is a watermark, and the only reason I have this on minitokyo is because of it. If for some reason I cannot use that WM, I will keep my drawings only on DA.

toujin never fails to impress with her new works of art. She gives us a prime example here that a piece can never be "too detailed". We love the feathery effect created by the soft shading as well as the minimal (but effective) use of color. Congratulations toujin and keep up the great work!

Wow. After EVERY. SINGLE. ARTWORK... All I can say is wow...
You are BY FAR my favorite artist on MT and I'd go as far as to say the world.
Keep up the phenomenal work... Blows my mind every single time.

    (I'm a phoenix myself ;) )

Simply stunning work toujin! You never cease to amaze me with your talent! I would agree with you that it seems a little TOO detailed, but it's still a beautiful work of art. I like how you had different colors for each animal... it actually helped me distinguish one from the other. Lastly, no worries about the watermark... it's understandable that people want to protect their artwork and yours isn't too distracting. Keep up the great work! :D

Wow. Another masterpiece. Totally luv the dragon and phoenix (?). It looks simply beautiful. And...it DOES have a lot of detail, but have no fear, it can never be TOO much. =^.^= Look wonderful. I always luv seeing what you come up with next. Keep up the fantabulous work!

Hahh, toujin's "Intertwined Commission" Superb as always, you can never have too much details though - not in my oppinion
The mixture of the two are really good except it's been used before... maybe something like frog and horse could be new? o.O lol anyway, it doesn't change the fact it's really good.

Once again you submit an atrwork so perfect the mind refuses to give out words to express one's astonishment. Fantasic work. Great harmony and dynamism of the composition. I think that this much detail gives the work a more 3D feeling to it - at least for me ^^

    wow... *__*

there's no such thing as "too detailed" ^__^ I love your soft shading, it creates such a lovely feathery texture :)

Eh you're as good as ever with your flowing linework, really like what you did whith the pheonix. Not so fond of the colour touches actually, but that's personal. Great individual detail work. Some global shading (like cast shadows) might help to make it more readable though.

Very nice work. Your attention to detail in this work, never ceases to amaze me.
The feathers are what got my attention, now to see the whole thing in perspective... its masterful. Thank you very much for letting us enjoy your talent through your beautiful artwork. :)

    :)

You never cease to amaze ^^ The detail is a bit overwhelming, but it just adds to the intensity of the scene. Someday I'd like to see your works in color, as I can imagine that they'll be fairly earth-breaking. But all your pencil works are awesome as it is ^_^ +fav

    Impressive as always! =]

I do believe I haven't heard of you or of any of your works.
Now, I say, this is a mighty impressive and detailed doujinshi.

(Though too detailed for my tastes... you could stand to lose some of that. But this is my opinion. Seeing the comments of the people before me...)

Few people in Minitokyo could hope to impress me more with their own doujinshi than I with yours.

I've love to see this coloured! It would definitely amplify the contrast. +FAV

Even though you wrote it's a phoenix and a dragon - .... sorry but I still can't see it >.<
