In 2003 ADV Films and Urban Vision banded together to produce an OVA film entitled Parasite Dolls. This modern day Cyber Punk film hit cult status as a spin off of a series entitled AD Police and it's story was in fact set within the world of the popular anime series Bubblegum Crisis where Boomers (humanoid AI robots) ensued on a difficult journey throughout human society.
The impact this film had was really quite significant in it's own marvellously twisted light. This is not the kind of OVA you can watch in one hit and base an automatic opinion on. It's a philosophical 'What If?' work of the mind which is quite difficult to digest and extremely characteristic of Neo-Tokyo-style Japanese animation. It's really something.
Now, discussing this work in particular:
Biomechinia is a two part artwork series whom was originally published under the
title of 'Biopornographic' (in direct relation to Parasite Dolls' storyline) but
was rephrased and thus made more so 'user friendly' as a published piece to be
displayed within the MT community.
Our primary artwork is in fact a Boomer model that appears on the cover of the
Parasite Dolls DVD and has been completely digitally recoloured. Our base models
are twins whom I affectionately name Cherry
Bomb and Electric Eel respective
of their hair colouring.
Our base art is consistent of a multitextured honeycomb matrix backdrop
retrospective of our Boomer models' mechanical nature.
We understand the following:
That this work does contain imperfect colourization.
This this work is of a controversial and more than likely of an acquired
taste.
However, this work is not about perfection nor conformity. Its outrageous nature
and borderline themes are not so much experimental as they are an example that
beauty is only skin deep.
This is a difficult work to understand. However, if it results in deletion it
will serve to justify that the piece has in fact been entirely misunderstood or
otherwise seen as too dangerously gratuitous.
Please, enjoy it!
