Artist Comment
This is my first submission to Minitokyo.
I would not have decided to submit this work if it had not been for someone that believed in my potentials, so I thank
him for all his support, instructions and several corrections till the very last stage of this drawing procedure.
Now, some words about the way I made this wallpaper. First of all I used a scan I found while wondering in
Graceful-Lament.com by Li Kun. I extracted the female character and the lion but I had great difficulty in adding the
hair as it was quite thin. So I repainted it and so did for the lions fur and some details around and within the
extracted piece. As for the background I used a photo reference found in scx.com (stock photo). I draw the whole bg
picture using that photo as a guide and added several parts with the help of brushes (found in Deviantart.com) and my
Wacom Intuos 3 template. The whole procedure lasted 8 hours more or less.
I hope you like it. I would love you to comment about mistakes you may see, things that do not fit or even about the
colors, the blending etc.
Scenario: A girl trapped in a haunted forest. She is all alone. Gods cursed her because she has never felt love. She is
now blind.
All of the sudden a lion comes towards her. Sits close to her so that she would feel warm, safe, not alone.
The lion will protect her.
The lion is a man in disguise. He is cursed by the Gods for the same reason as she is. He has never felt love as
well.
Will this journey of self discovery keep them together or put a distance between them?

just a simple suggestion, if its a lion , maybe it could be a more tropical-esque jungly bg, is not that i dont like the bg, cause its awesome, is just a lil sugg, hope i didnt offend you

The color composition's nice, and the BG blends very well with the scan. You also did well to create a painting-look to overall wall. Should say one of the nicest first submissions around here. :D

This reminds me alittle of "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" by C.S. Lewis. Plus the submission makes me think of the paintings from the 18th century paintings I have seen in musuems. This is worthy of a down load and may I say a "Masterpiece of a submission !"
