This wallpaper is my tribute to all the lost souls of war.
Chronicles of the creation:
The whole thing began as a game. I 've started doing something totally different. A vector work of the scan ( scan) which I hoped to use
on a vector bg as well. When I opened the canvas -empty as it was- and placed upon it the vectored scan a revelation
came to me. I always wanted to do an anti-war wallpaper and so I decided it was about time to create it. Moreover I
've chosen to use a technique million years away from my style (if I have one...). As you can see the only thing
remaining of the scan is an outline. The wallpaper itself is based on a stock photo ( photo) found through google some time
ago, and a crimson-black night. Most of the effects were achieved with brushes (all found in deviantart.com). And
finally I decided to add a text:
"the party is over as the laughter dies, an angel cries... humanity..."
It is borrowed by the lyrics of SCORPIONS' new song called "Humanity".
Looking through the image:
I 've always wondered "why war exists?". It brings such catastrophy, such misery... I realy don't
find an answer about it. Maybe one, but it's a cruel one. So cruel I don't want to mention it. For me every
time a bomb is unleashed human souls are being extinguished, and as the song says, "the laughter dies". If
there is any Heaven and angels do exist then every time a human dies an angel should cry.
But what about all of us? The humans who are not caught in a war. All of us who sleep safe and sound in our soft beds.
What about our humanity? Do we have any? Or do we sacrifice it in the temple of well-being? I don't realy
know...
Anyway, I believe that this is the tiniest thing I can contribute to all these people lost by war and to all those who are going to be lost...
