====================

Blade Mother is the third and final instalment of the Japanese Complex trilogy series that was designed in early 2007. This piece comes full circle in appreciating a variety of aspects.
Primarily, this piece like the others (as yet unpublished) within this series, is a celebration of glorious Japanese culture. Their dedication and eye for fine detail and intricate pattern is resounded in the decorative and colourful origami paper which illustriously fans out against a black mat textured background. Additionally to this, the torn hanging wall scroll continues this fan theme in its dynamic sense of movement and unease.

Our female character base model is a self-scanned stock resource illustration that has been digitally recoloured. An empowering yet feminine presence bears Buddhist Yakuza-style tattooing along the frame of her slender back and arms. Gazing expectantly over her shoulder, she readies a cane-sheathed katana whose expertly crafted steel glints with malicious intention.
A dynamic noir piece, potent in attitude and vivacity.

This work is a celebration of return, the first piece publicly displayed on MT since 2005.

Enjoy! :)

I would have definitely enjoyed seeing this at a higher resolution ratio, like the nowaday's standard 1600x1200.

Anyways, the back tattoo rocks!

Fav + download! There is only one major flaw in this one. It isn't in 1650 x 1050 res!

my favourite of your most recent submissions. love the patterns and as mentioned earlier her tattoos .

2 minor crit: i would love to see your work in larger sizes in the future say 1600x1200 or at least 1280x1024 and your signature is just a tad too big. i.e doesn't tuck under the toolbar.

btw- your upcoming works look great. :)

Wow! Why isn't this highlighted? Or at least in the elite gallery... *sighs* This wall is spectacular, so many perfect details, a great pose and sweet colors! It's really great, too bad the resolution is small though...
