I love the extra fire you added, and the overall smoothness of this wall. I've always liked this image of Hikaru, and you did a wonderful job keeping with the feel of the scan. Very nicely done! ^_^

It's been few years... wait, it's actually over a decade ever since CLAMP introduced Rayearth. But well... I think I'd go with a feature from MKR in his piece.
The scan was uploaded here, by MadoshiKurefu. The first time I saw the scan, I got an idea of walling it almost instantly, with the 'fiery' theme. Hikaru's pose somehow looked fierce, well... so I decided to take it on.
In this pic I tried to bring out an ancient idea of Goddess of Fire. Added a shrine-look-alike on the BG, and some lighting effect. Also added some layer to extent the flame on her back, and some shading was also done there. :)
Done using Adobe Photoshop CS2 (though still not using any CS2 feature there). Time spent around two days, and applied around 35 layers.
