Keeps on pluggin' through my w?w entries. Almost done...
This is from the manga series 'Gekka no Kimi' by Shimaki Ako, which is an interesting spin on the famous 'Genji Monogatari'
I'm not so fond of grown up Hikaru [Genji] but the young Hikaru is completely adorable!
The story behind this image is that the young Hikaru is afraid of love, after seeing his father's pain resulting from his loving Hikaru's mother 'too much', as he puts it. So when he is invited to play the 'maple game' by his young friends - a game in which maple leaves are thrown into the air and will supposedly lead you to the one you are destined to be with - Hikaru is reluctant to join in. However when he throws the leaves and one of them takes off, he desperately begins to chase after it, in spite of himself.
I decided from the get go that I wanted to keep it very simple, with the energy of the wall coming from Hikaru's
desperate focus on the leaf. He was vectored from this scan. I had also shaded in his clothing
before I decided it was better without it.
Well, there's not much else to talk about, as this was, after all, a very simple wall. :)
