Hmm... this wall pretty much killed me. I've been working on this on and off, but rushed it out to (near) completion last night... 9+ hours of straight vectoring = dead flyin... :E

Nothing really original about this wall... I just wanted to practice the painty-looking vector style and also to give stroke outlines a go. In the past I've definitely been one of those people who are like "Ew stroked outlines :E" but there's so much control over stroked paths in Illustrator, I actually think now that it's a function that's not really utilized to its full potential.

Motoko + Tachikoma(s) vectored from this scan. 99.5% Illustrator - all vector shapes, no gradients (which was a really dumb decision given that I was working on this during crunch time); just did color touch-up and re-sig in Photoshop. Thanks to taters for support x3 and alienzero for requesting a light gray version... I think I like how this looks better too xD

Dedicated to Josh, my friend since near diaper days, who loves GITS so much that he sent me the boxed DVDs of the first season as a present... this is my long-overdue present for him. Thanks so much *loves*

For the Vectorness March-April Mecha Challenge and 41. Awesomeness for the 100 Themes Project @ Instant Noodles. Because Tachikomas + Motoko clearly equals awesomeness!

Additional res now up at pixel ellipsis :D

Update: Thanks again to potaters for the good suggest @ IN for the semi-invisible tachikoma :D

    That's a nice vector work flyin. 9 hours? O_o I'd sleep if I were you lol

    You did quite a good job getting that painty look since this one sort of sits in between painty ones (the ones candy like) and vector ones (the ones I do because i have no life).

    Stroked outlines aren't bad at all. It suits the style quite well (I hardly use it since I'm not careful enough to fill shapes in along the lines sometimes haha). Awesome wall flyin :)

    ;-; I'm scared of spiders... and there are at least 2 submissions today with spider looking thingies xD

    Love the composition and perspective of this :3 The wonders you can do with analogous colours :D

    9 hours? That'a record, I'd like to be able to finish that fast XD

    9 hours straight? I don't have that type of an attention span :3
    I love the painting, lines, and the simplicity :}

    Ah whoa, this is just gorgeous. I really love the bird-view angle of Motoko and the tachikomas. They're just cute.

    Excellent work with the pentool, master. ^^ The colours are excellent and they're soft to the eyes. Candy to the eyes.

    Nice perspective and great overall effect, but the wallpaper does not really look painted-like to me. You managed to get sort of a crossover between vectoring and painting. Really interesting.
