Continuing on with the which waller entries...
This wall was based on this very unusual scan submitted by colleenerb.
Would it surprise people to know that this is actually my personal fav of my w?w entries? It definitely didn't start out that way though!
This wall was one of the very few for which I had a pretty firm idea of where I wanted to go with it from the beginning. I started out by vectoring the little fellow [I call him Mr Ugly ^_^] and the traffic light from the original scan. Then I vectored the small section of 'cityscape' from the scan and set about extending it so that it would go all the way across the wall without looking like it was just the same pattern repeated over and over again. It just wasn't working at it's original size so I had to play around with scale a bit till I was happy with it.
I tried a few different techniques for the reflections too, including having everything as though it was rippled, before
settling on this final version. Then I did al lot of fine tuning with gradients and various things.
It should have been finished then, but it felt off balance and like it was missing something. I tried putting an
overturned rubbish bin beside him, but that wasn't working for me.
Staring at Mr Ugly's red eyes it suddenly hit me. I was going to give him a ladybug on a leash! So I hunted around google and found this photo, vectored it, tried a few positions till I was happy and voila! The weirdest wall I've ever made. :D

this was my second favorite from the contest, the color is maybe a very usual color in general but it's not a color very used in this kind of walls.
normally I would say that I dont like the cityscape thing but I think is different in this case cause you chose a very unique scan to work with.
that grants a interesting conclusion.

That is a very weird idea. Walking a ladybug, but it's quirky and fun! THe purple color makes me very happy too. :) Ish my favorite color. :D

How cute... walking a ladybug... *lol* It's cute and a funny idea! I'm also enjoying the colors... your wallpaper looks really "modern"... the city scape I don't like a 100%... but somehow it does fit to the whole idea. So... well done! :)
