My only entry for the Which?Waller Round 2. No one guessed this correctly :D
I was really inspired by Candy's La Nouvelle
Lumiere; and thankfully, she did a tutorial for it.
mucha's frame + my swirls + texture-whorez = super modern art nouveau wall
50% vector, 40% textures and 10% painting. Haha.
Vectored the round frame from this Mucha's work. Vectored and painted the girl from this scan. 2 textures from stock.xchng. Swirlies - freehand vectored based on my sketch.
A quite simple wall, cause there's a lot of blank spaces, but the textures are awesome. And sorry, no 4:3 ratio version. Widescreen rules and I'm too lazy to edit the frames.
I really think more people should make more nouveau walls.

and me since I was completely lost......anyway......awesome man.....the color is very stunning and imposing, the feeling is very artistic and the style is very unique since you cant tell if it is a vector or if you painted or what.
my respect to you, spamming boy. -
whats really bothering me is her chest area. without the areole it really looks weird because the right breast seems to be attracting most of the lightning which makes me focus on that area. it almost looks like a manequin from the neck down.

You loose points for:
+symetrical designs on the 2 sides. Nouveau nevaaaar is symetrical in shapes, only in frames (and even frames often arn't perfectly the same on both sides)
+abtrast round shapes are cool, but not nouveau!
+Typography isn't integrated with the frames (like so)
+too much empty space on the 2 sides~ (thats the thing that made me think it was tama's wall cause she does that too)..that's all I can think for the moment, I thought I could find more lawl

Wow! I was amazed by this. I mean the background was very unique when you got the idea from the scan. You gave a nice gradient and decorations to make this wallpaper stand out.
Despite the nudity it's a beautiful art. I'm glad you didn't add those "unmentionable" details to it because it would seem distracting if you know what I mean. :D You vectored the outlines very smoothly and got the shade areas perfectly. :3 The texture you added for the skin gave a nice touch to it. I'm glad you made those markings around her stand out because it made the wallpaper interesting and unique too. :D
This definately deserves fave because I can't see how would a wallpaper like this not be an eye-catcher. :o

hmm, though I commented on this already..
the expression on that card is kinda creepy DX but, you fooled us all, you're good at copying candy's style XD (but I can't believe that she didn't get it either...)
nice painting, I like the textures, and nice borders. I like the colour scheme too, very warm. Though I think her face looks too soft compared to everything else, like she needs a nose (or a more defined one) XD

"lily of purity"? Hmm... your wallpapers are really interesting... the male imagination of female purity? Ok i better try to focus on some other aspects of your wall without trying to figure out your intentions... *lol* The vector of the girl is really good... love the textures. The background is very detailed in comparison to the girl. I don't think that you suddenly became lazy after creating such a detailed ornament background... so if I'm assuming it was your attention to make the vector of the girl a lot simpler... she looks really soft compared to the rest of the wall supporting your title "Lily of purity"... Well done... ;-)
