This vector is so heart-warming. The simple bg really goes with the this theme. Good job!

2nd wall I submitted for w?w. This wall is so sweet I had to go to the dentist...
Original scan was submitted by loxotronka and can be found here
My intention when I chose this scan was that if it was a scan I didn't esp. like then I wouldn't be as tempted to wall in my usual style i.e to my own taste. But it grew on me while I was working on it and now I really like it. ^^
I cleaned up the scan and vectored in her hair, and filled in the missing parts of her hair and kimono. I also did a lot
of fine tuning with the pen tool - for example, neatening up her eyebrows, defining her eyes and changing the shape of
the babies eyes etc. And there were a ton of other minor changes I made to the scan.
It took me a while to get the sleeve of her kimono to blend in with the original scan, but nowhere near as long as it
took me to figure out the background... Design is SO not my strong point. [Neither is titling...] After trying various
things I quit and just did this very basic background. The only thing I really like about the bg is the
colours.
So in the end I'm not sure if this wall will appeal to many people, but I like it well enough.

she reminds me of Lady Fujitsubo, the princess from Japanese novel, [The Tale of Genji] :D
sigh...since i'm not good in commenting colours and techniques, i'll say it from my feelings....
yup, like all you've mentioned it's indeed sweet, loving and warm. i feel so secure even by looking at this. though nothing special about special effects, it's simplicity is simply relaxing.
in the end, yes, i LOVE this! :) IT APPEALS SO MUCH TO ME POETICALLY~

So beautiful & heartwarming. The image isn't one that anyone would naturally choose, but this is fantastic. THe amount of detail that has gone into it, you don't even notice it at first, but it's very intricate. I'm glad that you chose to keep the background simple to compliment the simplicity and the focus on the bond between mother & child.

This is so lovely!
My sister is giving birth to my first nephew on May 6th and this wallpaper just matches this moment of my life perfectly!
Besided being an aunt, I'll also be my nephew's god-mother, so I'm really anxious for his birth!
